As a curator, I would like to be involved with projects that promote visibility to marginalized communities, particulary: POC, LGBTQ+, Mental Health Advocates. I’m interested in art as a vehicle for education and community building, and I believe representation is everything. By exhibiting artists on the margins of our society, we will be shedding light on voices that need to be heard. Voices that have historically been silenced.
What is exciting about living in the ‘now’ is that I believe times are truly changing. I want to be a part of that change. As a white woman, it is my responsibility not to speak over, but to build platforms with my own privilege. Curating is a way of doing that. I would like to create programming that is inspired, that is inclusive, that is educational and whose education is based in experiential knowledge.
